Im Jahr 1927 feierten Publikum und Kritik
in Berlin Walther Ruttmanns Montagefilm "BERLIN - DIE SINFONIE
DER GROSSTADT", eine großartige filmische Reise durch
einen Tag in Berlin Ende der 20er Jahre. Die Bilder, Perspektiven
und Schnitttechniken dieses Films verdichten sich zu einem Tempo,
das das pulsierende Leben dieser Metropole widerspiegelt.
Die clipartige Montagetechnik und die geschichtliche Faszination
des Films haben TRONTHAIM zu einer völlig neuen Komposition
animiert, bei der die traditionelle Klavierbegleitung als Katalysator
zwischen den Bildern und elektronischer Musik fungiert.
Das Ergebnis ist eine 1stündige Live-Performance, die den
Rausch der Bilder aus dem Jahre 1927 in das wiedererwachte Berlin
im 21. Jahrhundert transformiert.
Das Berliner Elektronik-Musik-Duo TRONTHAIM sind der Theatermusiker
Daniel Dorsch (39, produzierte für Hexenkessel-Hoftheater,
Staatstheater Stuttgart, Volksbühne, Gorki-Theater, Hebbel-Theater
u.v.m.) und der Bild- und Sounddesigner Sascha Moser (38, arbeitet
für Emigrate, Rammstein, Seeed, Bela B., Peter Fox, Steve
Binetti u.a.).
Sie führten ihr Werk unter anderem in Florenz zum Kulturfestival
„Notti d’Estate“, in Cannes zur Verlagsmesse
"Midem", in der lettischen Haupstadt Riga beim Festival
"Forte Riga", in Lissabon, in Paris zum „Salon
du livre" und in Oslo zu den "Berlin-Tagen" auf.
Neben vielen Aufführungen in Deutschland eröffneten
sie die Jubiläumsfeierlichkeiten im Berliner Kino Delphi
anlässlich seines 50jährigen Bestehens.

In 1927, the Berlin public and critics were celebrating the
documentary «BERLIN - A SYMPHONY OF A BIG CITY by Walther
Ruttmann, showing one day in Berlin at the end of the 20ies.
The pictures, perspectives and cuts of the movie are put together
in an amazingly condensed manner, reflecting the pulsing of
the city at that time. The video-clip-like film cut and a fascination
for the historical aspect of the film inspired the band TRONTHAIM
to a completely new composition, in which the traditional piano
competes with pictures and electronic music. The result is a
one-hour live-performance which transfers the ecstasy of the
pictures in 1927 into the reborn city of Berlin in the 21st
century.
The electronic band TRONTHAIM, that is the theatre musician
Daniel Dorsch (39) and the picture and sound designer Sascha
Moser (38). They presented their work at numerous occasions,
such as the cultural festival 'Notti d’Estate' in Florence,
at the music fair MIDEM in Cannes, at the festival «Forte
Riga» in the Latvian capital, and also in Lissabon and
in Paris at the 'Salon du livre'. They played at the «Berlin
days» in the museum for architecture in Oslo.
TRONTHAIM opened the 50th anniversary of the cinema Delphi in
Berlin.
